Csg 904 is a copy of Priscian’s Institutiones Grammaticae which contains a substantial number of glosses in Old Irish. Pádraic Moran has prepared a complete digital edition of the glosses along with further information and resources.

Prayer book now catalogued

CSG 97, containing (Ps.) Einhard's Psalterium abbreviatum, a litany, prayers, and Ambrose's De Officiis, now has full catalogue information.

CSG 231 (Isidore's Etymologies) now catalogued

This manuscript of the Etymologies, from late ninth-century St Gall, contains beautiful pen-and-ink illustrations.

UPDATE: CSG 232, the second volume of the Etymologies (XI-XX) is also now catalogued.  It contains a Confession formula in Old High German.

Navigation Update

Multiple improvements have been made today to improve the navigation experience of the manuscripts on the project website.  In particular, the catalogue information now has better organisation of sub-items, and identification of transcription sources.

Links being revised & viewing enhancements

The project website is undergoing changes, meaning that the links previously posted here to St Gall / Reichenau manuscripts are broken at the moment.  We hope to have them fixed soon.

Lex Alamannorum manuscript now catalogued

Full catalogue information (i.e. metadata) is now available for Wolfenbüttel, H.A.B. Cod. Guelf. 513 Helmst, containing the seventh-century Lex Alamannorum, or 'Law of the Alamans'.  The manuscript may originate from the palace scriptorium of Pippin, Charlemagne's son and King of Italy until 810.


The images currently on the project website are placeholders, which will soon link directly to the Wolfenbüttel HAB.  At the moment, the full-resolution images can be found at the Wolfenbüttel HAB website.
